This Ritual is dedicated for world peace and harmony smooth movement of planets & stars

This Ritual needs to be done early in the morning before sunrise as per decided Rule.

But From after Dashara Ekadashi to Kartika Purnima & From Dhanu Sankranti to Makar Sankranti and some special days needs to be completed  in the  Mid Night.

For this ritual required puja items  –

 Karpura , Pithau,   Balita, Ghee , Alati Baitha , Pani Jhari , Oil  &  Mashal is needed.

Before one day King Supertendent supplies one Shera( 1250gm) Karpura  for the wholeday  Aarti & Abakash Jal requirements. That is kept reserved with Bhandar Mekap. Rice paste is made inside the temple and kept  reserved inside a house of the temple before day, half is reserved for Muruja,  half is made Pithau ( kind Of Paste )  for whole day Aalati kept reserved with Suar Badu Sevayat . Pithau  is served with silver plate ( Rupa Bataa ). Whole days Balita For Aarti requirements is supplied by one lady called Magi Divya from KhundeiBenta Sahi , Puri . King Supertendent provides 1.3 Shera Ghee to Palia Mekap for one day requirements.  Alati , Baitha, Pani Jhari is supplied by Muduli Sevayat, Oil is provided by king and kept under  Akhanda Mekap custody . Emar Matha, Jagannath Ballav Matha, Odia Math & Mangu Matha burns Mashal.

Concern Sevayats – Temple Staff of King Supertendent, Pratihari , Vitarchu Mahapatra, Muduli, Akhanda Mekap, Palia Mekap, Khata Seja Mekap, Palia Suar Badu, Khuntia ,Garabadu, Balita Supplier, Puspalaka.

Before night after Pahuda ritual , inside and outside boundaries of the temple  are completely  vacant and inside Chamu Dwara, Jaya Bijay Dwara is locked and lucks are sealed with herbal gum and stamped. Lions gate,  West Gate, South & West gates are closed with Guards outside.

                                   Early in the morning  the guards view around temple, the small gates are opened for Sevayats like  Pratihari, Akhanda Mekap, Muduli, Palia Mekap entry & they wait at the south gate inside the temple, when Vitarchu Mohapatra Reaches then all four Main Doors are opened.

All the five Sevayats moves to Jaya Bijay Dwar & combinly check the seals of past night. Muduli brings the key to open the lock then they enter inside the shrine with slightly opened door & after they enter, the door remained close from inside,  then they inspect the seal of Chamu Dwar or Kalaghat Dwar. Pratihari Sevayat Comletes Manima Daka with Slokas, after this Chamu Dwar of most innermost shrine is Opened. Akhanda Mekap & Palia Mekap burns nine numbers of Balita with til oil to see the Deities. Then Jaya Bijay Dwar is slightly opened for Sevayats of Khata Seja Mekap, Suar Badu , Garabadu , Khuntia, they enter inside. Khata Seja Mekap Sevayats carries Ratna Palanka to it’s own place. Vitar Katha Argali ( wooden bar ) that is placed and after that Jaya Bijay Dwar and Inside South Gate fully opened .

                     Vitarchu Mohapatra ( Holds Right to complete the Aalati Procedure on Jagannath side if he is absent for any reason then Talachu Mohapatra maintain it  ) along with two Puspalak Sevayats stands under Ratna singhasan. Palia mekap keeps three numbers of Daani on Ratna Singhasan, Garabadu gives water to wash their hands and then Palia Mekap puts fire on  Karpura & three Sevayats complete the Karpura Alati ritual .

After this Suar Badu Sevayat puts twenty one Baitha Alati sticks prepared with Ghee,  puts on the Ratna Singhasan infront of three deities, Garabadu gives water to wash their hands then after three Sevayats completes the ritual. After that Suar Badu puts three thalies of PithauBata and Aalti Sticks on them, Garabadu gives water to wash hands, then after three Sevayats completes the PithauBata Aalti. After completion of three Aalti rituals the half burn Karpur and PithauBata is distributed among all as Prasad. This Ritual Contineous  as per this procedure eachday of the year.  During this Aalati ritual Genral Public watch from outside Vitara Katha ( wooden bar ). They don’t  go inside.  


Mailama

Removal of previously used Flower Ornaments and Garlands, cloths From Deities

Decided timing of this ritual is 6 am but the days when Maggal Alati will be completed earlier soon after this will be finished.

For this ritual four picess of Tadap, two picess of Utariya, one piece of Khandua is needed that is supplied from Changada Ghar inside Bhandar.

Three numbers of Puspalak , Khuntia ,Changada Mekap, Dhoba ( washer Man)

After complition of Mangal Alati Vitharchu Mohapatra goes out and one of the Puspalak along with two Puspalaks from past ritual climbs on Ratna Singhasan and first they bow their head and then touch Deities ( ShreeAnga ). In that time  One Palia Khuntia remains present on the floor. All the Puspalak Sevayats removes the past night used flower garlands and flower ornaments , tulsis ( Mala , Chula, Tulsi ). They distribute it among them,  in every removal Palia Khuntia holds right to get half of it and Puspalaks receives another half share. Some specific itums also goes to Kings House on a bamboo made bocket called  (Taata). Changada mekap stands on the fooor with his Changda where Tadap & Utariya of three deities along with Sudarsan , needed for Abakash and Bath purpose. That is kept in Changada House supplied by authorities. After removal of all the flowers and Tulsis Changada mekap gives Abakash Utariya to three Puspalaks and in that time Khuntia holds one piece of opened Khandua wide spread with both of hands  to protect  cloth less ShreeAnga from visitors eyes. In the mean time Puspalak Sevayats wear cloths to the deities. Changda mekap  takes all the used  past night cloths. Noted that three Deities are offered three Tadap and Sudarsan is Offered one Tadap. Two numbers of Utariya is offered to Jagannatha & Balabhadra. These cloths are everyday cleaned by Dhoba  ( washerMan) who is not belongs to general Dhoba category rather a Brahmin who cleans in a Kunda                                          

 ( Stone Made Container ) situated near Bata Ganesh Temple.


Abakasha

This Ritual Starts after Mailama

Scheduled timing 6.30 am

    Puja itums required 1. Pidha , 2. Pani ( water ) , 3. Khatuli ,     4. Dantakathi ( Tooth Stick ) , 5. Jiva Chela ( Toung Cleaner )

6. Three Numbers of Batta (), 7. Flower and Tulsi , 8. Chandan    ( Sandel Wood Paste ) , 9. Amla , 10. Karpura , 11. Darpan            ( Metalic Mirror ) , 12. Gara ( Metalic Pot ) , 13. Handi, these are kept reserved to comple the ritual.

Pani Apata supplies water . SuarBadu brings Pidha & Jiva Chela and other utensils from Bhandar Ghar. Khatuli Sevak brings Khatuli. Darpania who gives the mirrors and other utensils after cleaning. Amla Ghatuari suplies Amla everyday and he receives monthly salary for this. Bhandar Mekap gives karpura. Chandan & Mukha Pakhala ( Mouth Wash) is given by Puspalak. Pratihari gives DantaKathi ( tooth Stick ) & Mukha Pakhala. To provide tooth stick some people posses lands, It should be Murabi Danta Kathi , Shyam Sundar Khuntia & Hanuman Khuntia posses this type of lands.

This Ritual is completed within these Sevayats –

Puspalak , SuarBadu , Pani Apata, Khatuli Sevak , Darpania , Mukha Pakhala Pratihari , Mukha Pakhala Puspalak , Amla Ghatuari , Bhandar Mekap , Maha Voi , Jotisha ( Astrologer) Khuri Nayak.

After Mailama Ritual Pania Apata brings one pot of water then Suar Badu cleans the floor of the shrine ( Vitar Pokharia ). After that Suar Badu puts three wooden seaters( Pidha ) in front of three deites , under the middle  floor of Ratna Singhasan. Khatuli Sevak puts three Small tabels ( Khatuli ) near each Pidha. Mukha Pakhala Pratihari puts three Bata and thalies of flower, tulsi, chamdan &  amla. He also keeps  Three picses of Tooth Sticks and Toung Cleaner. Garabadu keeps three numbers of Rupa Jhari ( Silver Bowls ). Darpania Keeps three numbers of Metalic Mirrors in front of Deities. Pani Apata keeps three numbers of water full  pot  and extra one pot where Karpur is mixed . The curd given by MahaVoi Sevak is mixed with fourth bath water pot. In this type Pratihari completes all the arrengements ( PujaTha) , invites three Puspalaks to sit for Puja procedure. They come and sits for Puja and acts like brushing teeth and cleanig tong  by showing tooth stick & toung cleaner . After that they pure bath water on the mirrors mixed with , karpura, chandan, curd, amla. This bath water is treated as Prasad and distributed. When this ritual contineous One Astologer Khuri Nayak, by standingly explains Deities about their  star positioning and effects of the same date. If that day appears with Birth Star ( Janma Nakhytra ) he informs  it to Tadau Karan Sevak to complete the ritual  Nakhyatra Bandapana after Madhyana Dhupa. So Tooth Brushing & toung cleaning ritual is Known as Abakash. After completion of this Ritual Garuda Sevak along with Palia Chunara brings water and bath ritual of Garuda is completed.

                            During this ritual genral public is not alloued inside Shrine but they can have Darshan near wooden bar          ( Vitara Argali ) . If they wish to go inside they can go after paying  for tickets. ( PariManika ).

The next Ritual is Mailama after Abakash

This ritual compltes after Abakasha scheduled timing 6.30 am, itums required for this ritual is BaraLagi Luga ( Twelve Hand Measured cloth ) &  Til Oil .

From King Supertendent BaraLagi Luga is given in custody of Bhandar Mekap & til oil is given under custody of Akhanda Mekap. They give is during this ritual.

This ritual is completed along with following Sevaks

Pasupalak , Changada Mekap , Akhanda Mekap , Dhoba , Suar Badu .

Changada mekap brings BaraLagi Luga & three Puspalak who sits in Abakash Puja they changes the cloth of  Shree Jagannatha , Shree Balabhadra, Suvadra Devi, Shree Madhaba , Shree Laxhmi, Shree Saraswati . Escept Abakash Cloths other cloths are send temporarily  Washer Mans House to clean it.

After Abakash & During Mailama, Akhanda Mekap puts Akhanda Baitha (Continous Burning Lamp) & this is burn till night Pahuda ritual. In temple whereever Lamps are put for this Five Shera( katiki) Approxmately six kilograms of Til oil is given to Akhanda Mekap by King Supertendent. During this time Suar Badu sweeps out to clean the Abakash Jal with other itums.

After that SahanaMela ( Genral Public Darsan ) process starts.

This Ritual is completed by Under written Sevaks

Puspalak, Khuntia, Mekap, Tadau Pattnaik, Gochikar, Pratihari, Suar Badu, Temple Police & officer.

After Abakash & after completion of Mailama Ritual three numbers of Puspalak Sevak remains on Ratna Singhasan.

On the floor  three numbers of khuntia Sevaks & three numbers of  Mekap Sevaks stood infront of Deities. Three officers stood on the same floor to Guard Pindika, appointed by King Supertendent. Tadau Pattnaik & Gochikar will also be present there. DwarGhar Pratihari will call for SahanMela ritual.

From the period of RajKishore Dash Manager, three numbers of Jhari ( pital Pot ) has been keeping  on the Ratna Singhasan , in front of three Deities. Piligrims gives gold and Rupees in that Jhari or Ratna Singhasan This is called Pindika. The shares & Rights of Pindika of Temple,  along with concern Temple Sevaks will be mentioned in third part of record. The amount of timing of SahanaMela darsan will be  decided as per number of Piligrims present in the temple. During SahanMela if a piligrim touches the Deities (shreeAnga) raising hands or if any Piligrim passes stool, urine, vomiting , blood, spit then the Deities are Cleaned with MahaSnan ( complete bath ). If MahaSnan is caused only by touching then whole temple premises will not be cleaned. Only Puja Panda Sevaks completes this ritual reciting Mantras and bath Deities with Panchamruta ( ). (Escept Palia Puspalak & during Ritual PujaPanda, if other Sevaks will Touch Deities then also MahaSnan Ritual is needed) . Escept touching Deities if cause of Mahasnan is different then that is called BadaMahaSnan ( In this process From Ratna Singhasan To JayaBijay Dwar  will be washed ). The fine is collected fronm Culprit person. If MahaSnan by touching then expenditure  is One Rupee three Anna. If the cause is different then expenditure  is Two Rupees three Anna. If culprit will not be found then Temple Authority completes the ritual by paying the same as above. If  MahaSnan is not needed after SahanMela,  the Besha ritual of Deities starts. If Mahasnan is needed then Besha  Lagi starts after complition of Mahasnan.

                                   SahanMela is not counted with the ritual of Deities. It is done only for facilating piligrims to reach near Deities & to generate income for the Temple & Sevaks. In genrally SahanMela is done twice a day, one in the morning and another in the evening after Sandhya Dhupa. From Dashara Ekadashi To  kartika Purnima SahanMela is Done once in the evening  because of Bala Dhupa ritual contineous in the morning. From Dhanu Sankranti To Makar Sankranti SahanMela Is done after Sakal Dhupa.

Regular used cloth & ornaments of Deities  is needed to complete this ritual. See the List that is is mentioned below.

These are supplied by King Supertendent from Ratna Bhandar

Puspalak Sevaks Complete all the Vesha Rituals

Deities Vesha is done differently as per different  times & different seasons.

Sadha Vesha ( Plain Decoration ) – Starting from month of Chaitra Pratipada ( First day ) to month of Aswina Sukla Nabami & starting from month of Margasira Krushna Pratipada to Odhan Sasthi , Morning time vesha is done plainly.

In this Vesha Three Deities are offered with  JhobaKanthi, Hira Chita & Rahu Rekha. But from Snan Purnima To Rekha Panchami Deities are not offered Rahu Rekha. Snan Purnima, Anabasar,  Ratha Yatra Vesha and Parbani (Festivity) is mentioned in different ritual pages.

Aaswina Sukla Dashami the day of Dashara , Raj Vesha is Done.

From Aaswina Sukla Ekadashi to till Kartika Sukla dashami , Radha Damodar Vesha is Done.

From Kartika Sukla Ekadashi To Chaturdasi Laxhmi Narayan Vesha & other vesha is Done. See the Kartika Ritual for details.

Kartika Sukla Purnima Raj Vesha is Done

From Month of Margasira Odhan Sashti ( Sukla Sasthi ) to Basant Panchami ( Saraswati Puja ) Ghoda lagi Vesha is done. In this vesha Jhoba Kanthi is not used.

From Basant panchami to till  Dola Purnima Jama Lagi Vesha is done.

After this every Deities wear 5 piecses  of good quality golden garlands .

In the RajVesha all the ornaments that are used in Laxhminarayan Vesha also used with extra Three Golden Kirita.

RajVesha is commenced during day time at Dushara & Kartika Purnima But Avhisek Purnima &  BadaEkadashi on the chariots this two days commenced after Madhyan Dhupa. This RajVesha is Done only four times within a year.


Rosha Homa

This ritual timing is between 8am to 8.30am

  Puja itums required Manika A Ghee , Coconut, Homa Katha( wood for Yagya) , Wooden Seater.

This ritual is completed with following Sevaks :-

  1. DhoPakhalia , 2. Temple Purohit or Palia Pujapanda 3.Nikap.

This Homa ( Yagyan ) is done everyday near  Kotha Chulas inside  Deities kitchen.

Before cooking DhoPakhalia Sevak cleans the kitchen with water & removes the ashes from chulas,  this procedure is called (DhoPakhal). For this ritual he receives Rewards ( Khei)

This Homa needs to be done by Temple Purohit but currently PujaPandas are Doing. Ghee is supplied by Nekap & wood is supplied from wood stock room and one piece of wood is given for Asana ( Seat ). One coconut is used. The Brahmin who completes the Homa takes the coconut and that wooden seat. Rosa Homa and Vesha Lagi is commenced in the same time so both of the rituals timing has been described same from 8 am to 8.30 am.


Surya Puja

Scheduled timing of this ritual is 8.30 am to 8.45 am

Itums required for this ritual is Kora ( swet Ladoo) 2 numbers, flowers, Chandan , Ghanti ( Bell ), Sankha ( Sea Cell ), Pidha, ( wooden seat) and Jhari ( Metal Pot ).

Nikapa brings Kora from temple Kotha Vhog Sara Ghar ( Store Room ). Palia Patri brings flower , chandan, ghanti, sankha,  pidha from Anabasar Pindi and supply  them.

The purohit or Puja Panda who completed the ritual of Homa, they also do Surya Puja inside Surya Temple at plot number 87. They receive two Koras after offering Naibedya.


Dwarpala Puja

After Surya Puja both Puja Panda and Palia Patri goes to Jaya Vijay Dwar. Palia patri takes flower , chandan, Ghanti, sankha, Pidha & Jhari. Nekap brings 3 numbers of kora and gives 2 numbers for Dwara Pala Puja and one is kep reserved for Naibedya of Garuda. after completion of Surya Puja,  Puja Panda moves for worshiping  of Jaya  Vijay Deities under lower staircase of Jaya Vijay Dwar . They offer one number of Kora to each of the Deities as Naibedya.  During this ritual nobody  is allowed to put steps on Jaya Vijay Dwar Staircase. If someone puts his steps unknowingly on that place then that puja is rejected and there after Maha Snan that Puja is  done again. It is noted that before starting this ritual, the entire floorings of JagaMohan, Out side varenda right side of Temple, Stair cases are completly cleaned with sweeping . He enjoys the landed property for this purpose.


Gopal Ballava

The decided timing of this ritual is 9 am

  Itums and Bhoga requirement about Fourty three small pots( Oli) Paga Khai , Coconut Power Ladoo ( Nadia Kora ), small picess two hundred twenty five and big picess sixty nine, total 294 picess, Banana full  three numbers of Sara ( round shaped soil plates ), Khanda or Khua Manda four numbers, Curd four Sara, Makhan ( Butter ) three Sara, Pati   ( coconut slices ) or Khudi Nadia three Sara, Three thalies & three numbers of Parakh is needed for this ritual. These itums are supplied by King Supertendent .

This ritual is completed by following Sevaks :-

Sudu Suar , Ballava Jogania , Charcha Paika , Suar Badu, Patri Badu, Gara Badu, Palia Mahasuar, Pradhani Sevak , Three numbers of Puja Panda.

This Bhoga is done  at Anabasar Pindi. The rule is , In this ritual Paga Khai, Nadia Kora, Banana, Khua Manda, curd, butter, pati nadia, Paida is offered as Bhoga but now a days some of the itums are not offered. Before night Ballava Jogania (Supplier)  collects everything from store room of  Supertendent and arranges it inside Ballava Sara Ghara, keeps ready for next morning.One of the Charcha worker goes to invite and bring Ballava Bhoga. Ballava Jogania brings Bhoga and keeps in that Anabasar House. Sudu Suar keeps three thalies & Parakh after washing to serve Ballava Bhog.Ballava Jogania serves what he has brought on thalies and comes out from there after that Suar Badu waters the Anabasar Pindi. Patri Badu sets for Puja. Garabadu puts Pani Jhari ( Water Pot ). Palia Mahasuar takes the Ballava and serves that on the Panti. Pradhani Sevak goes to invite Puja Panda. They come and they do the Ballava Bhoga with Pancha Upachar Puja. In this ritual Bahara Tera is tied Pratihari near Vitar Katha. And after that Ballav Bhoga is served.

After  the offerings of fourty three Oli Paga  Khai Seventeen Oli goes for Khei and rest twenty six Oli is sold temple Pasara Shop. In the month of Dhanu Ballav is not done differently , it is done with Pahili Bhog. During Dola Purnima and Snan Purnima is not done separately , it is done with Sakala Dhupa. During Anabasar fifteen days Ballava Bhog is not sits,  only one Puja Panda comes and offers by  standing near Jaya Bijay Dwar.

Pani Apata brings complete requirement of  water from Bimla Devis well . All the Kotha Bhog Offerings are prepared inside Kotha Bhog Rosa sponsored by King Supertendent.  Pani Apata brings Thali and Parakh from Bhandar Ghar& supplies. Gara Badu brings Pani Jhari from Bhandar Ghar and supplies. Patri Badu supplies Pidha Asana. Khuntia supplies flower garland and Tulsi . Muduli receives Golden Padak from Bhandar Ghar and gives it . Mekap gives Puja Bastra. GaraBadu prepares Ghasa Jal . Parisa Badu gives Mirror. Hadap nayak gives Bidia and Jogania Gives Nadia.

Suar Badu cleans entire floorings from Vitara Pokharia to Bahara Katha Argali , with water, and again he throws ( Amunia Pani ) water , means he cleans two times. Pani Apata gives five numbers of Thalies and one Parakha to Suar Badu after washing it properly. Suar Badu cleans that again and puts them on three places separately in front of three Deities and one near Sudarsan. Pratihari tides Tera inside door of the shrine. The Tera remains intact from Ballabha time to end of Sakala Dhupa , near Vitara Katha ( inside wooden bar ). After Suar Badu putting thalies one Pradhani Sevak invites Puja Pandas , they come and draw lines ( Panti ) out side thalies with Muruja ( white rice powder ). A small panti is drawn in front of MahaLaxhmi.

 It is noted that the pots that are put within Muruja Lines will be considered as Mahaprasad, otherwise that will be Sankhudi. To keep Pots inside Panti some Maths have their  Sanada or Chamu Chitau ( Letter of King ). Only Kotha Bhog is served within the lines  drawn for Panti & other Bhogas are served only with permission of Supertendent . Who has received Sanand by paying Parimanika or decided fees. After Muruja lines are drawn Pratihari informs Shree Chamu ( Deities ) and with Sticks ( Beta ) in his hand, along with one Pradhani Sevak , goes to Kotha Bhog Rosa & call  them to come with Bhoga. At that time Dakhina Dwar Pratihari Guards the gate. After invitation Dhukudi Pratihari guards near small gate of Vitara katha Argali till completion of Bhoga ritual.

           From the Kotha Bhoga Kitchen at first Palia Mahaswar comes with  BiriKanti Pitha 2 Sara and Ada Pachedi , just after him Panti Badu comes with Sakala Dhupa Khecudi Kudia ( Pots ) along with Rosa Paika who walks on the way to shrine with a stick to drive out crows or any birds . Things brought by Mahasuar who puts that near Thalies placed under Ratna Singhasan. Khada Suar brings that near thalies and puts it on the floor. This Is Called “Kadha” but now a days when no one is present  in his generation , this job is done by Rosa Paika. Panti Badu serves Bhoga every thalies from pots. After that all the Bhoga reaches inside Panti. In this Bhoga , Kanika , Khechudi, kanti, Kakatua Jhili, Enduri, Hanskeli, Matha Puli, Bhaja ( Fried ) Saga ( leaf ) , Ada Pachedi is offered. Palia Patri sets all the Puja requirements. GaraBadu puts three waterful pots( Jhari ) by the side of three Puja Pandas. SuarBadu puts three picess of new cloths called “Pahada” , used for sitting purpose of Puja Pandas and in every Bhoga new cloths are required, that is kept reserved with Changada Mekap. Pradhani Sevak goes to invite Puja Panda Sevaks for sitting in Puja. Puja panda Sevaks come and sit on the Ratna Singhasan to offer Puja. During Ghoda Lagi time or from Odhana Sasthi to  Basant Panchami  Puja panda Sevaks Sit on the floor under Ratna Singhasan and other days they sits on Ratna Singhasan. PatriBadu receives “Patra Saja”, he puts 18 murti Rupa Gina filled with Puja needs , Elaichi, Labang, Jaba Dhana, Gud, Paita, Chandan, sets on a Pital Thali and goes inside. During Puja one Pratihari stands as Dwari Naik near Anabasar Pindi. Gochikar Sevaks & Pratihari Sevaks Guard near Jaya Bijay Dwar. Ghantua & Baijyanti Sevaks play Ghanta and Baja. Puja is done with “Sodasa Upachara”. During Puja periods invites these Palia Sevaks , Parisha Badu, Palia Mekap, Changada Mekap & Palia Khuntia. Parisha Padu takes three mirrors in front of Deities the same is used in Abakash Ritual. He catches it serialy in front of Deities. Khuntia supplies Mala Tulsi. Mekap supplies three numbers of Gold Padak after receiving from Muduli Sevak. Changada Mekap suplies three picess of cloths. Suar Badu brings fire from temple Kitchen. He prepares Dhupa with three Pital Dipali by adding Gogul, Chandan Powder and gives it inside. When Dhupa is completed Patri Sevak  puts Balita in the same Dipali and gives Dipa (lamps). GaraBadu Sevak gives Ghasa Jal to Palia Mahasuar who puts it inside Panti. ( It is noted that only Mahasuar Sevak can touch Panti ). When Puja is on progressed Patri Sevak brings back three Mirrors. At that time Dhupa & Dipa is offered. Tera is tied since Amunia water is thrown. After progress of Puja and after Dipa is givin Pratihari closes the Inside Door. This is called “Tera Padiba”. When Puja Panda Sevaks do Bhoga Manohi escept  Mahasuar, PatriBadu, Suar Badu and Gara Badu, nobody is allowed to stay inside the Shrine. Puja Panda asks Mahasuar about everythig is alright then they do Manohi. During this time “Jhanja” is beaten outside, Jhadu Matha does this ritual in every Dhupa.

             When the doors are closed following (Patuara) is done inside Jagamohan,  in front of Garuda Stambha :-

Paricha ( Raj Guru ) stands there, pradhani Sevak collects Suna Beta from Bhandar and gives it in his hand, Palia Mahari              ( Bahara Gayani) Dances there, Madali plays Madal standing near Mahari, Puran Panda recites Bhagabat or Bhagabat Gita Puran, near Anabasar Pindi, Jhanja comes out from Jagamohan and covers Bata Gacha , Mukti Mandap, Bimala Devi , Mahalaxhmi with others , then that returns to Jaga Mohan.

When Bhoga Puja inside is completed, Patri Badu comes out of Shrine calls Hadap Nayak standing near door. Pratihari Opens The Door. This is called “Tera Fitila”. When tera is opened the Patuara inside JagaMohan Stops. Bidia Jogania keeps Bittles (Khili Pana) ready before, Bittles are prepared with  Pana, Elaichi , Labanga, Dry Supari, karpura, Jai Patri supplied by King Supertendent. Hadap  Nayak carryes “Bandha Bidia” on a Rupa Bata( silver plate ) and gives it near three Deities. Puja Panda does Bidia Manohi. After that Palia Mekap Gives Karpura. Puja Panda Sevaks do Karpura Alati. Akhanda Mekap gives 21 Bati Alati that is done soon after Karpura Alati. After Alati Puja panda Sevaks removes the three Gold Padaks from Deites Body and gives it to Mekap and come down from Ratna Singhasan and goes out. Palia Pratihari conforms from Patri whether there is Sankhudi inside or not. If the Bhoga Pot is broken, it is called Sankhudi . If pot is broken inside then Suar badu removes that  Sankhudi. If pot is broken on Anabasar Pindi , Sudu Suar removes that. Whether Sankhudi is not there or if it is there, Bojhia enters inside to bring Bhoga  only after Sankhudi is removed. When Bhoga is lifted from inside shrine Suar Badu throws water and cleans  eveything  till Vitara Katha. Suar Badu gets three pots of Khaja for cleaning of each  Bhoga Times. The Sakala Dhupa  Ritual is completed with above noted rules or procedures.

 Noted :-  For making of Kotha Bhog and other things what will be given by King Supertendent that list is kept inside store room.  One Sevak “Chaula Bacha karan” receives  Raw Rice (Chaula) meant for Bhoga & gives that inside Kitchen after shorting it properly. Ghee and Gud collected from temple Godwan and puts in custody of Rosa Amina.Kumbhakaras ( soil pot makers ) from Mauza , Jena Pur, Kumbhar Pada & Tikara Pada, they  supplies Chari Bojha Handi everyday as per their terms and they get Rs 1.9 Anna per day. (Only these Kumbhakaras sell all the required pots of temple). These pots are stored with Handi Jogania Sevak and he gives it  to temple Kitchen. Wood is purchased everyday. As per list of year1910, some of the Bhoga goes for Khei (Dues). Some of them goes with King’s Tata and some of them is sold at Temple Pasara. The list is mentiond Below:-

Bhoga Mandap

Scheduled Timing of this Ritual is 11 am

In this ritual whatever Bhoga is prepared that is not spent from temple fund. This Bhoga is done as per order or sell purpose of Matha Suar and others. Only puja itums used for this ritual are received from Chamu Dwar. This ritual is completed by following Sevaks mentioned below:-

Palia Puspalak, Changada Mekap, Palia Mekap, Bhoga Mandap Pratihari, Suar Badu, Bhoga Mandap Dwar Pratihari, Suar, Mahasuar, Mekap Khuntia, Patri Badu, GaraBadu, Charcha Bala, Puja Panda.

During Sakah Dhupa ritual Charcha Bala goes to invite Palia Puspalak 3 numbers, Changada mekap, Palia Mekap & Bhoga Mandap Pratihari. They come and stay inside the Temple. After completion of Sakala Dhupa when properly cleaned with water, Palia Khuntia stands on Dakhina Dwar near  (LandaBrata) & calls Palia Puspalak to come for Mailama. They moves on Ratna Singhasan and change the Besha of Deities. They wear Patani Luga to Deities. Changada mekap gives Luga ( cloths ). Suar bady Gives Katha Ghoda and climbing on this they do Mailama  Sirika Pada of Deities. Suar Badu cleans ( DhoPakhal) the Bhoga Mandap Ghara from previous nights. Bhoga Mandap Pratihari vacants inside Bhoga Mandap Ghar and after he returns Suar Badu throws Amunia Pani ( water). Two Pratiharies Guard near Bhoga Mandap Dwar  & near Garuda Stambha , All the Suar Sevaks & Mahasuar brings Bhoga. After changing the Besha Palia Puspalaks goes out after giving the charge of Deities  (ShreeAnga Manahi) to Palia Mekap & Palia Khuntia. When Charcha Bala says to Patri Sevak , he puts Ghanti, Sankha, Bata etc & all puja itums near Bhoga Mandap Dwar. Gara Badu gives Jhari & Suar Badu keeps Pidha on that place then Charcha Bala Opens the Garuda Dwar after calling Puja Panda. Patri sets all, and then  Puja Panda sits in Puja. This Puja is done with “Pancha Upachar”. During Bhoga Mandap Puja both of the wooden bars are kept on the floor. Piligrims stands both sides. After completion of Bhoga Bahara Katha is set by Sipahis and viter katha is set by Pratihati. Bojhia takes Bhoga from Bhoga Mandap.

It is noted that during some festive days  this Bhoga Mandap Dhupa is completed after Madhayana Dhupa instead of Sakala Dhupa ( to see festive rituals). This is not counted with the fixed rituals of Deities. It is done from past times,   to provide Bhoga for Matha and Bhoga sellers who prepare to make Mahaprasad, genral public who order  for offerings. This Dhupa is not having any fixed list of Bhoga so one who offers anything that is offered. If this Bhoga Mandap Dhupa will be not there,  esspecially genral public suffers.


Madhyana Dhupa

Scheduled timing of this ritual is from 12.30pm to 1 pm

 This Dhupa ritual is done with Sodasa Upachar Puja Procedure  onlike Sakal Dhupa. Only Patuar is not done . Bhoga offerings are different from Sakal Dhupa , list is given below:-

After Bhoga Mandap when Bhitar Katha is fixed, Pratihari tides outside Tera. Suar Badu throws water ( Amunia Pani ).

 Pani Apata cleans all the utensils used in the morning and gives it Suar Badu. Suar Badu cleans that again and takes inside  to put in front of ( Chari Bada ) four  Deities( Jagannatha , Balabhadra, Suvadra, and Sudarsan). After that drawing lines by Puja Panda  the  Puja procedures are done as per Sakala Dhupa. After completion of Bhoga when Tera is opened, Alati is done onlike Sakala Dhupa.Ghantua plays Ghanta. Puran Panda recites Puran.

Madhyana Pahuda

Scheduled timing of this ritual is in between 1 pm to 1.30pm

For this Pahuda Ritual itums supplied by King Supertendent :- Saree , Khandua , Futa, Mala Phula, Karpura & Bidia.

This ritual is completed by following Sevaks :- Suar Badu, Palia Khuntia, Puspalak, Changada Mekap, Khata Seja Mekap, Palia Pratihari, BadaDwar Pratihari & Muduli Sevak. After completion of Madhyan Dhupa Suar Badu cleans with water from Pokharia ( inermost shrine) to Vitara katha. After that Palia Khuntia invites Puspalak Sevaks to do Mailama of Deities. They come and do the Mailama of Deities. Changada Mekap supplies Saree, Khandua, Futa, Paharan and Sirika Pada. Allthese things along with Mala , phula, karpura,  Puspalak Sevaks offer to the Deities. After this Palia Khuntia Calls Khata Seja Mekap Sevaks by standing under Ratna Singhasan,  to bring Palanka. Khata Seja Mekap brings inside three numbers of Palank. Puspalak Sevaks comes down from Ratna Singhasan. Pahuda Alati is done( onlike other Alati ritual the same, Karpura Alati & pithau Alati is done and the itums are supplied as per previous Alati ritual). After Alati Jaya Bijay Dwar is closed and Akhanda Mekap removes Baitha. Palia Pratihari serves Bidua three separate places for three Deities. Pratihari Recites Manima Daka ( invites Deities to leave from Ratna Singhasan and sleep on ratna Palanka) colses the KalaGhat Dwar. Muduli puts lock on Kalaghat Dwar. Inside Dakhina Dwar remained close.    


Sandhya Alati

Pahuda Fitta

Scheduled timing of this Ritual is 6pm

Itums required for this Ritual  , Karpura, Pata Patani, Flower , Chandan is supplied by King Supertendent.

This Ritual is completed by following Sevaks :-

Vitarchu Mohapatra, Palia Mekap, Akhanda Mekap,  Muduli, Khata Seja Mekap, Palia Puspalak , Garabadu , Talichu Mohapatra, Khuntia.

At first Vitarchu Mohapatra, Palia Mekap, Akhanda Mekap, Palia Pratihari and Muduli enters inside the shrine. With the order of Vitarchu Mohapatra , Muduli opens the lock of  Kala Ghat Dwar. During this time Pratihari recites Manima Daka, by praying Jagannatha to leave Ratna Palanka & arrive  on Ratna Singhasan. Akhanda Mekap puts Baitha. Khata Seja Mekap brings out Ratna Palanka by going inside and then Doors are opened completely. Suar Badu keeps 21 Bati (Sanja Kali Balita) inside shrine on Ratna Singhasan. Three numbers of Palia Puspalak Sevaks along with Talichu Mohapatra & Garabadu stands near Ratna Singhasan. Palia Puspalak for two Deities and Talichu Mohapatra on Jagannath Side,  stands under Singhasan who completes Karpura Alati with 21 Bati Sanja kali Alati ( This ritual is done as per Mangala Alati ). After Alati three numbers Puspalak Sevaks climbs on Ratna Singhasan , they take water from Garabadu to wash their hands and do Mailama. They do Pata Patani Besha to the Deities. Khuntia gives flower garlands. Flower  ornaments such as , Guna, Nakuasi & garlands come from Deities garden. With that flowers they complete Vesha and handed over (Manahi) Deities to Palia Mekap then go out.

It is noted that if someday due to lack of time , Deities Diba Pahuda is not done then after Dwipahar Dhupa  Mailama is done  and then after doing Besha Sandhya Alati is done. If Pahuda is done then Besha is done after Sandhya Alati.( During Ekadashi first Alati is done then Beaha is completed).


Sandhya Dhupa

Scheduled timing of this ritual is in between evening  7pm & 8pm.

The procedure followed for Madhyan Dhupa,  the same procedure is applied for Sandhya Dhupa only Bhoga itums differ as per list mentioned below. After this Dhupa along with Karpura Alati & 21 Bati Alati,Pithau Alati,  one extra  Alati is done with Silver Plate ( Rupa Bata), that is called “Jaya Mangal Arati”.

Chandan Laagi

At night 10pm Chandan Lagi ritual is done after Mailama

Chandan Ghatuari supplies Chandan Paste. Karpura, Kesara, Kasturi is sullied by King Supertendent. Muduli gives three numbers of Rupa Pingana( Silver Pot )  from Deities Bhandar Ghar.

This ritual is completed by following Sevaks :-

Suar Badu, Pasupalak, Ghatuari, Muduli, Palia Mekap, Palia Pratihari, Garabadu, Hadap Nayak, Palia Khuntia. If after Sahanmela there is no Maha Snan( follow morning ritual) then Suar Badu cleans the floorings of KalaGhat Dwar.  Puspalak Sevaks come and do the Mailama of Deities and the wear Saree &  Khandua. Onlike morning Abakash ritual Khuntia Sevak stands with open Khandua  in front of Deities with widly raising hands to cover the body(shree Chamu). Chandan Ghatuari brings Chandan & makes a paste adding Kasturi, Kesar on a stone plate ( Sila) , near Bhandar Dwar, he tooks three silver pots from Muduli and keeps that paste in that pots. After completion of Mailama washes his hands and takes that pots from Ghatuari alkong with Pratihari who holds Sticks and goes in front by saying to go side (Adei Hua Adei Hua), they both reach under Ratna Singhasan.

Garabadu gives water to Puspalak Sevaks to was their hands. Palia Mekap gives that silver pots to Puspalak Sevaks of three Deities. Pasupalaks puts that chandan paste in the (Shree Anga)Body of Deities. In the mean time Palia Khuntia Performs Manima Daka with sticks on his hand.  In the same time  Hadap Nayak contineously  offers Bidua( Bittle) to the Deities.


Bada Shringar Vesha

Scheduled timing Of Bada Sinhar Besha is around 10.30 pm

For this Besha Shree Ramdas Math gives Kara Pallav, kundal, and Tadigi. Emar Math gives Phula Chandrika. Both of the Maths are provided Landed Property for suppling flowers. Changada Mekap supplies BaraBati Pata where Gita Gobinda is written. Eight sets(Saja) of Pata is required per year. Every set of Pata costs Rs 500 or more than that. After finishing of Chandan Lagi ritual Changada Mekap gives Mailama Luga to Puspalaka  Sevaks they offer  BaraBati Pata to Deities. Kara Pallava , Kundal Chandrika is offered to two Deities and Tadigi Chandrika is offered to Suvhadra Debi. In this Besha Deities are decirated only with flowers. After completion of Vesha Puspalak Sevaks add  Karpura on Deities and comme down from Ratna Singhasan to go out. Then water is thrown and arrengement is done for Badasinhar Vesha Bhoga.


Bada Shringar Bhoga

Scheduled timing of this ritual is 11.15 pm

In this Dhupa Puja Procedures are done under Ratna Singhasan. In this Dhupa Muruja linings are not done. Rosa Paika brings Ghee with silver pot means for Bhoga offerings of Deities. Before Tera is closed Deities are offered  Dhupa and Dipa. Puja is done with Pancha Upachara. Alati is not done after opening of Tera.

Scheduled timing of this ritual is in between 11.45pm to 12 pm

For this ritual 14 numbers of Paida ( Raw Coconuts) is supplied by King Supertendent. Palanka is brought from Bhandar Ghar. Khuntia gives flower. Mekap gives Karpura. Talichu Brings the Seal. Handi Jogania who keeps Soil for Seal from Kumbhakar gives it. Lock is given from Bhandar.

During Bada Singhar Dhupa & when the Tera is closed  BadaDwar Pratihari keeps five Raw coconuts ( Paida ) for offering .After BadaSinhar Dhupa is over Suar Badu cleans the entire florings of the shrine and after that Khata Seja Mekap brings one Ratna Palanka and puts that in front of Bada Thakura under Ratna Sinhasan. Bhandar Mekap brings out (Sayana Thakura) Sleeping Deity from Bhandar Ghar. Palia Puspalak Sevaks after cleaning hands takes Sleeping Deity inside. Mudra shows Baitha (Lamp). There the Puspalak Sevaks of Bada Thakura Side add Chandan and puts him Near Jagannatha on Ratna Sinhasan. They receives water from Gara Badu, washes his  hands and he touches one Flower Garland with Jagannatha, then that garland is offer to Sayana Thakura. In between other two Palanka (Beds) are kept under Ratna Singhasan,  one is kept  in front of Jagannatha, one in front of Subhadra. Then another two Puspalak Sevaks goes inside. Four raw coconuts which is prepaired by Bada Dwar pratihari is kept on Ratna Singhasan. Puspalak Sevaks offer three numbers of cocunuts to three Deities and one to Sudarsan. Hadap Nayak offers Bidia(Bittle). Five coconuts are offered to Laxhmi, Nrushingha, Bimala, Saraswati & sent to Dakhin Ghar (south room). Puspalak Sevaks do Karpura Alati standing under Ratna Singhasan. During Alati Vitar Gayani( inside singer) Mahari sings near Kala Ghat Dwar standing by side of Jagannatha. Binakar ( Bina Player) plays instrument by side of BalaBhadra Thakura. Four numbers of coconuts are kept under Ratna Palanka, two is kept with Jagannath and others are with BalaBhadra & Suvadra. Palia Khuntia gose inside with Sukla Fula (White Flower) in a Silver Bawl ( Pingana). Puspalak Sevaks and Saja(Fresh) Garabadu Sevaks bring Sayana Thakura near Jaya Bijay Dwar. Khuntia holds Beta(stick) & Flower. Khata Seja Mekap puts Damburu() near Jaya Bijay Dwar. Sayan Thakura sits on Damburu. He is also offered with Coconut, Bidia Manohi, Karpura Alati, Sanja Kali Alati . Palia Khuntia offers ( Puspanjali ) flower on Sayan Thakura. After that Sayana Thakura is taken from Jaya Bijay Dwar and sleeps on the Ratna Palank of Jagannath and then after taken to Bhandar Ghar.

Palia Pratihari closes jaya Bijay Dwar. Inside south gate is closed. After Deities goes inside escept Chamu Baitha other Akhanda Baitha is brought down.

Pratihari calls “Manima, Manima”

Palia Mekap with Chamu Baitha on hand calls Manima &  looks around with behind Ratna Singhasan then he comes out through Kala Ghat Dwar. Muduli closes the Kala Ghat Dwar with lock & he seals it with soil then Talichu Mohapatra stamps on it. After that from Kalaghat Dwar to Jaya Bijay Dwar tit bit inside is checked if there is no one stays inside. Muduli closes Jaya Bijay Dwar and locks it. Soil Seal is applied on Lock. Talachu Mohapatra Stamps it. For seal required soil and pot is kept reserved from Kumbhakar that is given by Jogania(Supplier).

Seal of Madan Mohan Deity is kept with Talachu Mohapatra. After getting close of Jaya Bijay Dwar the other Dakhina Dwar is closed with similar procedure.

   After that temple police covers all around temple searches every corner to clean people from inside temple that is called Sodha. The four gates of out side Bedha(East, West,North, South) are closed. Each gates are guarded. Muduli and Bada Dwar Pratihari sleeps near Jaya Bijay Dwar by guarding it And  other (Pahari)guards remains there.
